For a while I ran an Instagram and Twitter account called Vegetarian Breakfast to review, you guessed it, vegetarian breakfast options across Dorset. These days I opt for the vegan option where possible (a potential future blog) but here’s the best and worst of what I found for the veggies. Please use the links for latest menus and opening hours.
Boscanova – 650 Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, BH1 4BP
4/5 – A lot going on here, all really nice, loses one star for plate layout.
Branksome Beach – Pinecliff Road, Poole, BH13 6LP
4/5 – Good line up, good quality, fantastic view (if you get a window seat).
Chiquito – Tower Park, Poole, BH12 4NY
4/5 – A surprise hit, probably the only meal on Chiquito menu I’d go back for!
Sainsbury’s – Multiple locations
1/5 – What a mess, not even two meat free sausages could save this.
Stewarts Garden Centre – Broomhill, Wimborne, BH21 7DE
3/5 – Not bad, quality was fine, went a bit overboard on the beans.
The Caff – 6 Banks Road, Poole, BH13 7QB
4/5 – Pretty good, liked the finish on the toast and tomatoes.
Vines Kitchen – Sturminster Marshall, Wimborne, BH21 3RW
3/5 – Good value and quality, far too many beans though.
Frankie & Benny’s – Multiple locations
3/5 – Liked the herb potatoes, English muffin in place of toast was a welcome change.
Giraffe – Now closed
4/5 – Perfect cherry tomatoes, about time the avocado got a look in!
The Kitchen – Poole Park, Poole, BH15 2SF
5/5 – Full marks, fantastic line up, hard to fault anything here.
Jenkins and Sons – 7-8 Penn Hill Avenue, Poole, BH14 9NB
3/5 – Beans were a bit stodgy, hash brown was undercooked, possibly a bad day.
Camden – 6 Bournemouth Road, Poole, BH14 0ES
4/5 – Battered halloumi was insane, spinach-pancake-things also nice.
Haskins Garden Centre – Ferndown, BH22 9DG
2/5 – Bit boring, mostly fine otherwise.
The Skinny Kitchen – Sadly closed 😦
5/5 – Loads of flavour, brilliant alternative to run-of-the-mill baked beans.
Tesco – Multiple locations
1/5 – One point for the fried bread, forget the rest.

4/5 – Some great ideas here, a few items needed a tiny bit longer to perfect.

3/5 – A bit stingy on the beans, sweetcorn fritters, red pepper and spinach all good.
