The Pembroke Dock Falcon

This week we got to visit the Pembroke Dock Falcon exhibit at Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre, a stones throw from where the actual full-scale Millennium Falcon seen in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi was built.

It’s a bit of a trek down to the south west of Wales but well worth a visit if you’re in the area. The people we spoke to at the museum are so proud of the display and the piece of Star Wars history that their town holds.

After being constructed in the nearby shipyards, where actual war planes were built years earlier, the Falcon was shipped for use at Elstree Studios.

Outside the Heritage Centre is a timber frame replica of what was originally built for the Millennium Falcon. This was one was built last year in celebration of the opening of the exhibit.
