Postcards from Dewnens

Spent some time this week exploring the North Devon coast. My nostalgia for West Country holidays normally drags me further to Cornwall, so it was nice to break with tradition and see another corner to this part of the world, which in conclusion looks and feels exactly the same. Oh, the comfort of familiarity.

Our seaside towns are becoming places where, not only people, but ideas and trends go to retire also. We visited a tourist attraction called Watermouth Castle that’s become so dated it’s transitioned into more of a museum, preserving features that would have once seemed cutting edge, such as this 6ft robot band playing a selection of standards for your entertainment. Beat that A.I.!
