Not having children means that Sam and I tend to take our holiday time before the schools break up each summer. Other than a couple of day trips I’ve been Poole bound for the past couple of months. I know the weather has disappointed most, for me it’s been bliss. Anything above 25 degrees and I fail to function. The downtime at home and cooler temperatures has given me a good run at catching up on things I’ve been putting off, for weeks, months, years and even decades.
For most of the 2010’s we were moving from pillar to post as we started our lives together and wrestled our way onto the property ladder. A lot of my worldly belongings have been in Wham (brand, not band) plastic storage boxes of various sizes for as long as I can remember. Since late July I’ve been working on sorting through the lot.

I don’t know where to begin with everything I’ve uncovered, but one highlight was a folder that I’d poorly sealed and scribbled ‘Time Capsule’ on. I’m not sure if I had any idea when I packed this stuff away in 2002 that I’d be opening it 21 years later. Inside were photos I’d assumed long lost, cinema ticket stubs I’d forgotten I’d kept, emails from friends I’d printed off! 🤣
I still need to have a proper sort through this box in particular, but I’m almost certain it will inspire at least one or two future posts.
