Celebrating 8 years with Grapevine

Today is my 8th anniversary of working for Grapevine. I’ve still got a long way to go to catch up with some of my colleagues, even if you add the 4 years prior that Grapevine was a client of mine.

I enjoyed my previous role(s) at BU and jumping ship to work for a small business felt like a bit of a gamble at the time. With every year that passes I’m more confident that I bet on the right horse as Grapevine continues to realise it’s potential, particularly this year with our move to employee ownership and recognition with being shortlisted for the ‘Best Place to Work in Dorset’ award.

It’s a tough time to be a business our size, bigger organisations have the budgets to move quicker, ‘solopreneurs’ have more freedom to make changes. For those of us in the middle, we have to find new ways to be innovative and creative. I’m excited about what we can achieve along these lines with Grapevine to attract our next generation of employees who chose to join, and stay, with us.

Thank you to all my colleagues, our clients and partners for making this a great, eight.

A nice start to my 9th year this morning, with an event less than a 10 minute walk from my house, hosted by Bournemouth and Poole College at Treehouse Digital. There’s some very cool things happening in this unassuming building right now that made it difficult to take photos inside (I had to sign an NDA to enter!).

The conference itself was interesting with a great line up curated by Stuart Palmer and the Creative & Digital Industries team at the college. Plus, I got to catch up with two of my fantastic tutors from my time as a student there in the mid 2000’s!
