I managed a total of 24 gigs in 2023 (browse the whole list). I’m not sure if I’ll top that this year. I got off to a good start this month though, with two back to back shows across the first weekend of February.
Number one took Sam and I up the country to Leicester for Brothertiger at Firebug. This is another, relatively obscure, artist I’ve discovered via blessing of the Spotify algorithm in the past few years. Being from the US, I didn’t ever expect to get to see Brothertiger live so was more than happy to make the journey.
It was worth the trek, even if it was another twist of fate that took us as far as Leicester. We could’ve gone to the London date the following night, were it not for another gig already in the calendar..
That gig, Circa Waves at Engine Rooms in Southampton, was by some luck rescheduled, as it was originally due to take place the night of the Dorset Business Awards last October (did I mention we won one?).
