Yesterday I headed to London with Tom to see Less Than Jake and Bowling For Soup, on the closing night of their biggest UK tour ever at Hammersmith Apollo. It really is incredible to see two bands from my youth still absolutely smash it two decades later.
We were very lucky to get to work with Less Than Jake (I must have mentioned this?) when we ran the record label. This show was my 40th time seeing them live (read about the first time).
We didn’t get to work with Bowling For Soup, but we came very close to. I was beginning a push to get the rights to press their fantastic 2004 album A Hangover You Don’t Deserve, when we made the decision to call time on the label due to other life and working commitments.
At the afterparty (💁🏼) we got chance to speak with BFS frontman Jaret Reddick, a genuinely lovely chap. The last time I crossed paths with him was in the early hours at Slam Dunk Festival in 2017. I’d made an impassioned appeal to collaborate with them on a vinyl release. We shared some contact details and took one of the two photos below.

The other photo is a 2024 recreation from this weekend, with the original included in it on my phone. Watch this space to see if we ever meet again to take a photo of a photo within a photo.
