This week our business partner Gamma, presented Grapevine with the award for ‘Marketing Team of the Year’! As a small business, our marketing budgets are limited. In recent years we have adopted a more relationship building based approach to our marketing and communications activity that leverages our most important asset as an employee owned business, our people.

Winning this award was a very pleasant surprise. Since our transition to employee ownership I feel I’ve done a lot less ‘marketing’ in the traditional sense, due to new responsibilities in the business. I’ve even begun to feel a little uneasy when I’m introduced as a marketer (or is it marketeer? I’m never sure).
Many of the other 1,500+ businesses eligible for this title will have dedicated marketing departments, where our ‘team’ is a cross company collaboration of staff who each wear a few different hats. To win the award has given me renewed confidence that our approach is less of a compromise and more a strength.
Congratulations to my fellow co-owners. This certainly helps cement our small and mighty reputation! 💪 Thank you for the recognition Gamma, this is very cool.
We are exceptionally grateful for the support received from Matthew Barnett, Alex Davidson, Inga Leru-Kelly and the whole team at Gamma, not only placing their absolute trust in our vision, but also for helping us to achieve it on a day-to-day basis. Our marketing ‘team’ extends to them.
