It was great to have You Are The Media Lunch Club back in Bristol this week for the first time since 2023. The long overdue event brought together friends old and new from across the south west, Wales and even Manchester (fair play Judith Rafferty!).
We heard from a panel of Sarah Townsend, Phill Agnew and Kerry Harrison, as well as Bryony Thomas, all curated and hosted by Mark Masters and Sonja Nisson.
As is tradition for Lunch Club events, we tried for a world record, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be on this occasion. There’ll be another chance for this when YATM returns to Le Vignoble, Finzels Reach again on Thursday 30th April.
I’ve loved making the trip up to Bristol since my first visit to the city for a Jimmy Eat World show at O2 Academy back in 2010. It’s become a home from home over the past 15 years, with YATM events, beer and gigs bringing me back here.
I managed to time this stay with two great shows, Norway’s finest Sløtface at Exchange (kudos to Matt King for joining me for that one) and my 41st Less Than Jake show at the festival-in-a-warehouse Prospect Building.
